Seen on Geekbench, the iQoo Z9 5G could come with a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC

A companion model to the iQoo Z9x might be the iQoo Z9 5G.

iQoo Z9 5G would soon be available in India. Previous sightings of the alleged phone on multiple certification sites have revealed some of its primary specs. Additionally, early leaks have said to show design renderings for two iQoo Z9 variants, which are expected to be the base and the iQoo Z9x. They are supposed to be the replacement for the iQoo Z8 and Z8x, which were introduced in China in August 2023. Concurrently, iQoo is preparing for the February 22 launch of the iQoo Neo 9 Pro in India.

The iQoo Z9 5G, model number I2302, was spotted on Geekbench (via Nashville Chatter). According to the listing, the phone might run on a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC. This refutes earlier leaks that claimed the phone would include Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC.

The purported iQoo Z9 5G, which is equipped with a chipset dubbed ‘k6886v1_64,’ achieved a score of 1186 in the single-core test and 2683 in the multi-core test on Geekbench 6. The variant that is advertised is reportedly powered by Android 14 and has 8GB of RAM. According to a previous report, the phone might ship with a 6,000mAh battery and a 1.5K OLED display.

There were also hints of an impending India launch for the iQoo Z9 5G in the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) database. According to the phone’s Bluetooth SIG listing, Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity will also be supported. Two models—possibly the original iQoo Z9 and the iQoo Z9x—with textured, gradient light blue rear panels are depicted in leaked design images of the iQoo Z9 series. One appears to have a square-shaped camera module, while the other has a circular twin back camera unit.

Anticipated to successor the iQoo Z8, the iQoo Z9 is expected to have multiple enhancements. Notably, the iQoo Z8 has a 64-megapixel dual back camera system, a 5,000mAh battery, an Android 13-based OriginOS 3.0 operating system, and a 6.64-inch IPS full-HD+ display.
